Silver Dollar Saloon   

A nicotine-stained dive attached to a desolate Days Inn, the Silver Dollar Saloon takes its hook from its name. Like the old collectible gambling chip, this country-western bar has two distinct sides to it, each delivering on the promise of high-stakes, whiskey-slamming, saloon-style fun. During the week, the Silver Dollar is devoted to a cadre of wizened regulars and a revolving, but ever-present, domino line of truckers who knock back Jim Beam and sometimes each other. On the weekends, the mood is more expansive, even jubilant, as older couples line the dance floor to the rousing strains of old-time country music. Lessons are available for free if you get there early, but stick to the dance floor for the first few hours. The drinks are strong and cheap, and you wouldn't want to do-si-do yourself into the parking lot, wondering how Lady Luck's faring with the two-step inside. - Rachel Moran
