This South Tampa club has an odd location for a gay club -- right next to a strip shopping center and a sports bar. But City Side would probably be popular no matter where it was located. Games, karaoke and live entertainment (Sandy Moody performs songs by request every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) help keep the crowds coming. But as with almost any nightspot, it's really the party atmosphere that keeps regulars and others coming to City Side week after week. The ambience is dark and intimate, but there's also a small patio if you want to take a break from the smoke, the crowds and the music. -- Marty Clear

New and Improved !
I have to agree that there is a lack of friendliness on the part of the patrons although the bartenders seem to be cordial. The good news is that there has been a major remodel .. Added was a smoke free piano bar that offers a relaxed and a more congenial atmosphere. As for the smoking section the dacor has been taistfully up dated. The pool table was relocated to the front of the bar where it might be quite a challange to play on when crowded as it's placed in the traffic pattern of the entrance , the bath room and the exit to the patio. All in all the up dates are a welcome change..
smoky, boring, unfriendly
I've been here on and off probably 3 times over the past 5 years. Recently went on a Friday night and still the same people sitting on the stools that were there 5 years ago. Place is way too smoky. Guys there have a problem with social skills. You say hello to someone and tgey stare at you like they are deaf.....maybe they are.
Busy Place, Lots of "Scenery'
Nice bar that's busy when other bars are empty, and lots of guys to check out.
Sunday Aweful
If you like smoke and loud, loud, music this is the place for you on a Sunday afternoon. We were told they are trying to do a "Tea-Dance", but obviously they are WAY off the mark. It was shere punishment! This is not the place if you want to have a good time afternoon with your friends.
