Who hasn't stayed at a hotel and been subjected to the grumpy service and burnt toast of its who-cares-we-don't-need-repeat-business-anyway restaurant? Of course, not all hotels are all like others, and neither are their eateries. Tahitian Inn, a privately owned landmark of sorts, features a restaurant that hovers under the dining radar as a great, even 'secret' brunch spot for South Tampa folks. Well, sorry, we're spilling the coffee beans on this one because it's difficult, one, to find a great breakfast place in Tampa; two, to find a spot with a lovely, verdant outdoor patio; and, three, a hotel cafe that serves espresso and gourmet coffee with its meals. The hotel is so proud of its little restaurant that it now touts its name on the updated neon street sign. No doubt Tahitian Inn wants to beckon new customers to its breakfast and lunch menu, a mix of Southwestern and Southern comfort food that includes sandwiches, wraps and salads, steaks and seafood, for lunch; omelets, waffles and French toast for breakfast.
