Beef O'Brady's   

Each week Beef O'Brady's claims to serve more than 500,000 hot wings -- at two wings per chicken, well, you do the math. This sports pub offers a family vibe but enough big screens and beer to appeal to grown-up armchair athletes, too. Televisions (tuned to ESPN and FoxSports) stare from every wall. Video games puh-ching from the corner, and uniformed Little Leaguers and softball players of every age are omnipresent. On big game days, fanatics show up early to claim squatter's rights at tables near the big screen. Many come dressed in their team jerseys. Sporty types come for the food, camaraderie, reasonable prices and cold beer. Items such as 'baby lettuce' and 'microbrew' never show up on the menu. Guests get wings (ranging from mildly spicy to meltdown nuclear), fried mushrooms and cheese, big chopped salads, drippy burgers and sandwiches. Insiders love the 'Big Blue,' a grilled chicken sandwich with ham served on a Kaiser roll with bleu cheese dressing. -- Lisa Galloway
