Thanks to their ongoing support of local musicians, BJ's Lounge has remained a Wabash Valley country music institution for over 50 years. Patrons can sip a drink and enjoy a steak dinner, hear live music on weekends and dance till dawn. They can also get a lesson in local music history -- BJ's walls are covered with photographs and plaques commemorating the artists who have kept the Wabash Valley's music scene alive. Most of the memorabilia documents BJ's annual Hall of Fame celebration, when local musicians gather for a night of drinking, dining, live music and an induction awards ceremony modeled after the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's. Like the latter shrine, the Wabash Valley Musicians' Hall of Fame celebrates longevity -- inductees are culled from those who have played in the area for over 25 years. -- Barbra Dannov

By wgdaughery on 06/05/2007
This used to be our all time favorite hang out, as well as hundreds of people before us...but alas it has gone by way of the bull dozers several months ago. Bill and Cyndi The old timers who used to spend sat. nite at the lounge, and now spend sat. nite watching the tube cause there's not another place to call home on saturday night like BJ's and the bands, friends, and employees.

Hot Bars
By johncrippen on 03/02/2007
Oh come on...there aren't any cool bars in town anymore. You have the option of going to a bar that used to be an old house or a fern bar. The cops have detroyed the bar scene by cruising the lots and seeing which cars are there the longest. Oh there is always the FOP...lots of cars there for long periods.
