If you walk around Toledo, youll most likely spot people wearing the "30 and Out" club T- shirt. Its the proud symbol of what you can accomplish here at Ragtime Ricks: ordering at least 30 different beer brands over time. Thats not hard to do when you consider that this small, cozy saloon has 132 beers on hand -- 120 in bottles and 12 on tap. About a dozen affordable wines are served, too, but you wont find any hard liquor here. Since 1981, locals have been coming here not only for the beer, but also for the live ragtime music offered five nights a week. Barbershop quartets and traditional New Orleans Dixieland jazz are often showcased here as well. The music fits the saloons 1920s dcor: Ragtime Rick's boasts a tiled floor, old photos, retro wallpaper, stained-glass lampshades and a teeny-tiny bar (only eight stools). Complete with booths, tables, chairs and a small outdoor patio area, this old-school establishment seats just about 100 folks. Come in Wednesday nights for the Dixieland jazz jam session, a beloved Toledo tradition that welcomes all kinds of players to sit in and do their thing. If you work up an appetite while listening to the banjos play or the piano roll, you can enjoy Ricks famous chili.
