For seven years, Helen Delfakis and Andreas Delfakis have been serving a taste of Greece at Athens on Fourth Avenue. The 100-seat dining room welcomes patrons with parquet floors, warmly colored walls with cherry woodwork, photographs of Greece that Helen took a few years ago, and delicate lace curtains. While some locals eat here, it's the place visitors seek out when in need of earthy Greek fare. Among the house specialties are spanakopita, dolmades, a chocolate cake made with Metaxa brandy, baklava, baked apples in phyllo pastry, rice pudding and baked custard. After a hearty meal, take a stroll through the neighborhood, which has lots of little shops and a bit of the feel of the Plaka in Athens.
