San Miguel Mexican Restaurant   

Ive eaten at 98% of the mexican restaurants in birmingham, having lived here for eleven years. San Miguel or El Palacio or whatever they want to be called is hands down the best in town. Ive had most of their menu items and ive never tried anything that was not good. I recommend the Burrito Mexicano with steak, or if you prefer, they have the best fajita nachos ive ever had. Oh...one more thing..... they have the best homemade salsa on the planet!! They give you two viles of salsa, one hot the other mild....trust me mexican is my favorite of the ethnic foods and this stuff is the world champion of them all.

This restaurant has the absolute best authentic mexican food in birmingham. They have traditional mexican restaurant items, but also have a different menu filled with some of the most authentic and original items I have found. Give them a try and the rest will seem just ordinary.
