Staying at the peak of local hipness has been harder for Figlio because many of those who wouldn't be caught dead anywhere else have moved on to the next place. It's still the best watch-and-be-watched location in Uptown, however, because there isn't a better corner for doing just that. At an inside or outside table, loud voices or street rackets will smother hushed conversations. If you actually go to Figlio to eat, you'll find a good assortment of Italian-styled meats and pastas that won't bust your bank account. Hand-tossed or Roman cracker crust pizzas are a good bet, as are entrees and specialties that come with a house salad and cost $15 or less. Recently added to the menu are ''cicchetti,'' Venetian snack samplers that go for $3-$5 a plate. The bar scene at Figlio is pretty crazy most nights, and you'll encounter more styled leather than T-shirts. Happy hour is serious business here, going from 4-7PM weekdays and noon-7PM Sat. and Sun.

Best Happy Hour EVER
By amyrevview on 10/28/2005
I love Figlio's! It is an excellent place for small groups to get together and dine. It also has one of the best Happy Hours in the Twin Cities with their $2 appetizers (could substitute for a meal) and $2 drink specials. If you are looking for a gourmet dinner at gourmet prices then this isn't for you. It does however offer very good food at excellent prices!

Best ravioli ever
By risherry on 01/05/2005
I have been going to Figlio's a lot over the last 7 years. I love their food. I mostly only order the cheese ravioli, which is the best tasting thing ever, but I've also had other pasta dinners. I've even tried the burger. All above satisfactory. The appetizers are great. Among my favorites are the chicken wings, calamari, and toasted ravioli. Expect to wait a few minutes to get greated. Service takes a little bit there, which is annoying. I always feel like I'm waiting forever for everything.

My experiences have all been good. It is a great place for people watching and the food is good. However, I would like to see LESS fish/seafood items on the menu and more meat & pasta choices. Finding free parking is difficult and the wait times are long on Fri and Sat. I really enjoy the basket of breads and chips with olive oil they bring you at the table right away. Makes for a nice (and free) appetizer. For the best ppl watching ask for a table near the windows along Lake Street.
