There may not be a Twin Cities venue more aromatic than this one. Inside the floral ambience of Bachman's large, main outlet in South Minneapolis is the second of baking whiz Patrick Bernet's trendy, tantalizing cafes. Nestled near the fronds and blossoms of the greenhouse is a selection of dining indulgences meant to trigger the comfort food appetites of serious gardeners and browsers alike. Light breakfast-to-dinner fare from the walk-up counter includes several quiche choices (leek or sausage are just two options) and a list of distinctive meat and veggie sandwiches, all under $7. The real stars, of course, are the award-winning French breads and pastries that look so handsome on their trays that you may balk at disturbing them. You'll notice plenty of folks, however, indulging themselves with a strawberry Napoleon or a cherry lemon Danish, followed with a latte. Indoor patio seating offers the relaxing elements of sun and foliage without the threat of wind or rain; box lunches are also available for takeout. A P.S. to the guys: If there's tension between you and your partner, wedded or otherwise, the combined effects of flowers and flour are sure to plant the seed of harmony.

...and you've gotta check out the other location in Wayzata. We just went there for dinner. WOW. Not only can you go during the day for the french bakery feel, but at night it's one of the most romantic places to eat in the twin cities.
