Welcome to Murray's Restaurant. Minneapolis' original restaurant for steak since 1946 & home of the award winning Silver Butterknife Steak dinner for two. Also known for mouth watering garlic toast, Hickory Smoked shrimp appetizer, and home baked pies. Well into its third generation of family ownership, Murray's stands out among local and out of town diners alike as a true Twin Cities landmark & continues to provide the best in food and service as it did 59 years ago.

Best for 28 years
By rollsr1976 on 03/10/2006
I first visited Murray's 28 years ago when visiting the Twin Cities from my home in Chicago. I never forgot the silver butter knife steak and visited Murray's every time I came to town. Six years ago I was offered a job transfer to Minneapolis and the first thing I thought of was how close I would be to Murray"s. I am from Chicago ( we know steak) and I have never regretted the move. Still the best and the recent updating/remodeling just makes the restaurant ready to move forward for the next 50 years without loosing any of its charm. Ask for Sophie, she is the best server in town. Jameson

Good steak and that was it
By mcflyadams on 01/17/2006
My wife and I have been to the best steak houses in Chicago. Murray's had a good steak, no question. However the salad that came with it was terrible. You'd get better at Perkins. The garlic toast looked (they were bad) like something from a cheap diner and the potatoes tasted like something out of a box. The $9 we paid for a SLICE of "fresh" raspberry pie was ridiculous. I'm sorry but after having eaten at the Chicago Chop House and Gibsons in Chicago (and we live in the Twin Cities) Murrays doesn't even come close. It's great that they cut your steak but the problem with that is it gets colder quicker.
