Bad time at 225
By tychck9 on 06/08/2007
Took my family to 225. 1st. sign of trouble was the service. (very slow). 2nd. sign of troulbe was the food. ( very very slow). 3rd sign of trouble was when the food arived. (cold). The waiter seemed to be more interested in doing other things. Came back three times. Once to get out order, to place the food, and to pick up his tip and for me to pay him. I would not go back again. I feel this place is a wanta be. Sorry 225 but you not win this one.

Hadn't been here in quite a few years..... it was fabulous!! The pesto pasta dish was delicious, service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect. Clean, fresh, comfortable. A very enjoyable experience. Will return sooner than later.

Carl Merton (and Pam, too!) has a real winner in the heart of downtown. His devotion to making 225 work is really paying off with vast improvements in his service, the Fox Room expansion, and a kitchen staff that looks like one of the hardest working bunch in town, which Karl seems to be part of 24/7. Rotating artwork adorns the walls around homey, white butcher-papered tables. Not that Carl thought of it first in town (that would be Trent of the late, lamented Avalon), but a hoist of the goblet to 225 for olive oil as the "spread" of choice for their fresh bread. Like Fugazzi's and Henry's, a can't miss place.
