MCCXXIII (call it 12-23) has never lacked panache. The Dupont Circle nightspot radiates pulsating beats and satisfies those who value a club with a dress code, a bouncer and a velvet rope. More than a trendy watering hole, the tri-level lounge exudes an exclusive vibe that encourages flirtation and the consumption of caviar and champagne. There is attention to the architectural elements, the ambient lighting, the dimly lit bar and the low-slung furniture. The VIP room offers a champagne bar and ultra-plush, red velvet booths. The dance floor is diminutive, but you're guaranteed an intimate dance experience if that's your desire. One night it's ultra-progressive rock; on other nights spank, hip-hop and R&B reign. The mix resonates with a crowd that favors international house music and trance.

SCAMMERS!!!
By fun2seeu on 10/19/2005
A friend and I visited the club based on its online advertisement on their website. It stated that on Tuesdays, no entrance fees before 10PM. When we got there (8:50PM), they were finishing up an event that lasted longer than expected. They told us that it would take another ten to fifteen minutes before they would be able to open up to the public. Over an hour later at five minutes to 10PM they opened up. We returned for the third time just to find out that they were going to charge us to get in. These are the two front door men who told us earlier that it would not be a problem when we returned. When we objected, they got nasty and verbal and told us to look elsewhere and did not care if we passed on bad reviews about them. We ended up leaving with mixed feelings. We felt good that we did not get swindled and bad that we wasted over one hour of our time in exchange for bad attitude, nonexistent professionalism, and poor business sense. No wonder the door men are where they are. They do not have enough brains to move those tree trunks called legs around to find a real job. The only have two CC’s volume of brains with bushy eyebrows on their protruding cranium that resembles a Neanderthal cave man. If you are smart and want to save time, avoid this place. Hit them where their pocket book is and perhaps then they will get wise and improve their image and services. Cheers Baby!

The Best!!!
By jmhfalcon on 08/22/2005
Most consistent club in DC for over 6 years running. You know what you get everytime you go. It's Promoter driven so you need to know in advance what night is what (and most of the times you need to know the Promoter to get in the VIP areas). But when you go it's always a great time. Drinks are comparable priced to all the other nighclubs and the bartenders are fast and friendly. Music is always good and the crowd is stylish. A staple in the DC Scene.

WORST CLUB!
By cvrtlilly on 07/08/2005
If you’re traveling to DC don't waste your time on going to this Club. My friend knows the owner of the club and recommended I go there since I was in the area for 4th of July weekend from nyc. The huge bouncer I was talking to was extremely rude and hostile like he had something to prove. As I told him my story and gave him the name as I was told to do he proceeded to say that’s a LIE I know all of the owners friends. Of course he made me call my friend at 1am who then had to call the owner and the owner then came out to let me in to VIP. Once I was there I was so disappointed. Definitely not worth the hassle.
