MICE ALERT
By desilyn81 on 10/02/2007
I ahave been a regular patron at B.Smiths over the past few years, however, the service has been on a steady decline, and now that the Executive Chef has been replaced the menu is beginning to change- and not for the better. Furthermore, when I dined there on Tuesday 10-2-07 there were mice running through the dining room, mice ran underneath my table on three different occassions. The manager explained with an attitude that due to construction underneath Union Station the mice were coming into the restaurant and that the problem may not be fixe for another year. Disgusting!!!!!

RATS IN DINING ROOM
By mpo4ever3 on 10/02/2007
I just came back from dinner at B. Smith's in Union Station. While at dinner, mice crawled about the DINING ROOM!!! Immediately after the first sighting, the waiter came over and said, "I know, I know...I'll call over the manager if you want." While waiting 10-15 minutes for the manager ANOTHER MOUSE scurried by our table into the back of the restaurant by the kitchen. When the manager, Mr. Anthony Henderson, finally arrived, he was very unapologetic and said the rodent infestation was due to pipe/sewer work at Union Station and that they couldn't set traps in the dining room. He then asked, "Well what do you all want?" in a very condescending tone. While I was asking him what the restaurant was doing to work with the problem and advise diners, TWO MICE CRAWLED BY THE TABLE AGAIN!!!! WHILE THE MANAGER WAS AT MY TABLE!!!! The manager refused to remove anything from the check with the exception of the desert which we did not eat. He was said, "Well you have already eaten your dinner." and gave us a copy of the VP of Restaurant Operations/General Manager, Thomas Townsend (202.289.6188). SO at the end of the night, I left paying over $130 for a dinner experience of mice crawling through a restaurant dining room.
