My favorite dish from the cheesecake factory is the cajun chicken and shrimp jumbalaya. I really like the one on Winsconsin Avenue when you go there ask for a girl name Shante' she is an excellent server.

The Best of Both Worlds

Let's say you're in the mood for a 'nice' dinner - more than the easy, made-in-front-of-you-while-you-wait experience of D.C.'s plethora of upper-scale fast-food haunts, but less chi-chi than the masses of trendy or stuffy finer dining experiences. The Cheesecake Factory serves as a ready and capable middle ground - laidback and friendly enough to spend a few hours enjoying quality dining in a setting and with food sophisticated enough to count as a night of spoiling yourself. Service by a capable waitstaff is efficient and friendly enough to make it possible to overlook the fact that the wait for a table can be long, particularly on a weekend night (company policy prohibits reservations), and the portion sizes can only be described as massive. If you're planning on treating yourself to dinner and dessert, plan on bringing home leftovers. Most entrees in the menu (the word 'book' seems more appropriate) are easily large enough for two hearty meals. Selections range from Asian to American, with Mexican and Italian also adding to the extensive list of possibilities. Particularly tasty are the entree-sized salads, with the Luau Salad standing out above the rest (featuring such atypical salad ingredients as mango and green beans). When the main course comes to a close, the restaurant naturally tempts its diners with a selection of thirty-plus cheesecakes, each thick slice accompanied by healthy dollops of airy whipped cream. Unexpected varieties, such as Boston Cream and Caramel Dutch Apple Strudel accompany the more traditional Chocolate Chip and Cherry selections. For those looking for an alternative to cheesecake, try the Fresh Apple Dumpling, Warm Apple Crisp or various cakes and ice cream dishes. Prices are moderate, entrees generally ranging between $9-$16 and cheesecake slices around $8, but the sizes of the portions guarantee getting the most out of one's money. As is the case with most area eateries, larger checks are typically the result of entrees and dessert combined with alcoholic beverages and/or appetizers. The Cheesecake Factory gives diners from a wide range of situations a chance to enjoy a fine dining experience -- family friendly, sophisticated, yet comfortable enough to arrive at dressed in jeans and sneakers, if one desires. In a city that often caters to one extreme or the other -- grab-it-and-go food or gourmet cuisine -- The Cheesecake Factory is able to cater to the spectrum, ensuring it a long and successful career and ensuring its customers one satisfying dining experience after another.
