Rate and Write a Review This B&B bills itself as "a lovely haven of European charm in the heart of DC." The description is a good one. Charming and intimate, the Embassy Inn also combines comfort and convenience with affordability. The structure was originally built as an 8-unit apartment building in 1910. A series of renovations, most recently in 1987, have upgraded and improved the building to its present 38-room inn status. Fortunately, the original moldings, mosaic tiles and marble staircase have been preserved. The Embassy Inn is convenient to Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan, shopping and restaurants. Metro passes and Tourmobile tickets are available for sale, and the Inns helpful staff is available to assist you with information and arrangements for transportation, dinner reservations, theater tickets, and sight-seeing plans. Comfortable rooms with simple reproduction furniture offer private baths, direct dial telephones, cable television with premium stations, and daily maid service. In addition to an expanded continental breakfast, the Inn offers complimentary evening sherry and snacks. The Embassy Inn is an unexpectedly tranquil little haven in the midst of the citys hassle and bustle. - Tracey Meloni
