Fly Lounge, which occupies the space of the former club Red, raises the bar for DC nightlife with the introduction of an upscale destination that exudes the kind of style typically found at Manhattan hot spots. While there is typically no guest list or cover charge here, dressing the part of the trendy, upscale clubgoer will increase your chances of getting past the bouncer and the velvet rope. The intimate space resembles a chic, modern airplane, and the light and dark minimalist dcor contrasts nicely with chrome accents. Fly Lounges resident DJ spins house music all evening, and the sparse number of futuristic-looking bar stools encourages mingling and lingering at the bar. You can reserve one of the few tables, however, but make sure to book in advance. What's Next: After a night of partying, make your way to Kramerbooks and Afterwords Cafe for an early breakfast.

the best place to party in DC
By glitteris2 on 03/01/2008
this is a great place to go if you don't want to go to the typical dc club filled with mostly creepy guys that said, fly has a cool look, exclusivity, which makes you feel special about being there and very sexy girl bartenders and waitresses, it gets packed but that's for a reason, it's because the place is really about as swanky as dc clubs can get

For the easily impressed.....
By msghana on 09/14/2007
If you like gimmicky clubs with slow bar service and hit-and-miss music, then this is for you. As a New Yorker, I am fully aware of the mob-hype mentality that has desperate party people under the impression that a place is considered hot just because some tacky person said so. Don't be a drone-please form your own neutral opinion and stop believing the hype. It's just not that serious....or that good.

high end lounge people
By whaazzzuuuhhhhp on 05/22/2007
Most of the review I have read about this place are from people who either love it or hate it. If you are looking for a club with cheap drinks that let every tom, dick, and harry in don't go to a high end lounge. If your looking for a little upscale, have some loot, and want to hear some of the best DJ's in the city Fly is the best of the best. Over 1 year old and it's still in the top of the class for lounges.

Best place in the city
By groovyking on 05/03/2007
Former reviewers are all haters. If you're looking to dance among 90% guys in a packed room listening to top 40s mashups of kelly clarkson - go across the street to 1223 and lucky bar. if you want the best looking crowd and BY FAR the best music this city has to offer... dress the part, show up with girls instead of 10 of your ugly guy friends, and go to FLY. After 4 years in NY - this is the only place in DC that holds a candle to what a good weekly party is all about
