Hyatts abound in DC, and this one is truly grand! Situated atop Metro Center, the citys public transportation hub, guests at the Grand Hyatt are just steps away from any destination in town or beyond. Just across the street youll find the Convention Center and only two blocks away is the MCI Center. While all Hyatts feature signature atrium lobbies and glass elevators, this one goes a step beyond. Looking upward, youll be reminded of a European hillside village as it climbs upwards from a central courtyard. As if that werent enough of a fantasy, in the center of the courtyard is a small island surrounded by a blue waterfall-fed lagoon, and on the island, a pianist is playing a mahogany baby grand piano! Guest rooms overlooking the courtyard are a lovely touch but ask for one on a higher floor to avoid noise. All rooms are well equipped Hyatt - style, able to meet the needs of vacationers and business travelers alike. Located so near the Convention Center, its a safe bet that, despite its 900 rooms (and 60 suites), the Grand Hyatt is frequently booked. A well-equipped health club adds to guests pleasure, and four restaurants offer a wide range of dining choices. There's also excellent room- service for those who prefer to stay in (and maybe listen to that piano). Despite its popularity, weekend and special packages are available. When you call to determine availability, be sure to ask about them. - Tracey Meloni

Don't Look Like A Tacky Tourist!

This hurts. This 5 star hotel should not discriminate but it does. I was asked to leave. What jerks. I am a regular in the Florida division and love the Hyatt Grand Cypress but this place has an attitude. Fine. My money walks. You owe me an apolgy Mr Hyatt. Michael BArry MA
