Special built-in cherry cabinets conceal ample closet space, a large TV/VCR, a refreshment center/minibar, and a coffee maker. CD players are available. The business traveler will appreciate rooms specially equipped with large granite desks, high-speed internet access, dual-line telephones, data/fax modem ports, and voice mail systems. Everyone will love the oversized beds, cool and gentle colors, and lounge chairs with ottomans. The George features a terrific contemporary French bistro -- Bistro Bis -- which alone would be worth the price of admission -- don't miss the Sunday brunch. Our first president's name has been attached to a number of Washington institutions, but none as up- to-date as this. The George says it offers "an exciting neo-modern alternative to Washington's traditional style hotels." Indeed, it does.
