You'll find this bar up 17th, on the right, where it turns into Conn. Avenue. For those of you familiar with the DC scene, this little hole in the wall was formerly known as Planet Fred. For others, Lucky Bar is located a short walk from MadHatters, and next door to 1223. While there's no cover, the men at the door are very picky about carding. Be sure you know all your information before attempting to enter the land of horseshoes and incense. That is right, we said incense. If you're really lucky the scented smoke will waft towards the bar to greet you. Lucky Bar is a fairly small bar for the crowd it attracts. With two bars, and an extensive seating area, this bar is a fave for happy hour get togethers. If you plan to meet after work, bring your appetite--The Friday?s style menu has every greasy delight you could crave. Not only do they satisfy the craving, but the food is pretty good. The servers are pleasant and accommodating, much like the menu which is vegetarian friendly. If you are lookin' for a hip place to hang your backpack, while playing pool and listening to the resident DJ, stop by 1221 Connecticut. Grab a corner of the large couch on the back and relax. The drinks are good, and the scene is perfect for that after work down time. If you're lookin' for a little spice to cure those Monday blues, rumor has it they host a pretty hot salsa and meringue night, with dance lessons provided from 7-9PM.
