High tea--not that great
Went to the high tea today with 3 girlfriends (in the Cafe Promenade at the Mayflower). It was pricey ($25 for the 'full' tea) and not that great. The finger sandwiches were tiny and the bread was dried out. Also, each tea was supposed to come with clotted cream and lemon curd, but we only had one serving at the table (for 4 ladies). When I asked for more, Islam (the waiter) said they didn't have anymore because they were so busy (we were there at 3:30--when the tea starts--and there were only a couple other tables of customers). Also, I found the service less-than-attentive. It wasn't bad, but for the price I expected more. I would not go back.
Comfortably Classy~~*
Using Priceline.com, we were able to stay in a $300 room a night for only $80 a night. The room service for dessert one night was so relaxing. Great cheesecake. I'd love to go there anytime. It is within walking distance to the metro.
