Plus there's no TV, and it's all contrived by owner Kamal Jahanbein so that patrons can focus on conversation, imported beer and just plain hanging out. Once a popular Georgetown destination, The Saloon moved operations over to the U Street corridor where it could be more of a low-key spot although the atmosphere hasn't changed much. It's still a friendly, laidback place where locals come to chat and indulge in a high-quality brew. There are 12 German beers on tap and many more available in bottles, like the Urbock 23 which has a one-per-person limit due to its high alcohol content. The Saloon serves up all-American pub fare like burgers and buffalo wings and adds a few specialties into the mix like their spicy red cabbage dish.
