Rate and Write a Review New Vegas Lounge bills itself as "DC's Blues Club," and if it's home-grown blues you're looking for, this is the place to hit. But don't come to drown your sorrows while the band laments its latest heartbreaks. This is a place where the blues will make you feel happy. There's plenty of rhythm in this lounge's blues. NVL is located in the Logan Circle neighborhood, and somewhat like the neighborhood, has undergone a complete renovation. The club sits across from the mega Whole Foods grocery store and is squeezed between condominium developments. A major force behind the club's renovation was to bring bigger, traveling acts to the club on a regular basis. The club now sports a new bar and hardwood dance floor, but has retained its friendly charm. This joint gets jumping almost every night of the week. The cover charges can be steep on the weekends, which feature the Out of Town Blues Band and Dr. Blues, but it's usually well worth it. Drinks and food aren't cheap either, and there are plans to add a soul food menu to the regular bar fare. But those aren't the reasons you visit New Vegas. It's the music that will bring you back.
