When New York Times writer Jan Benzel described the ambiance at Cashion?s Eat Place in 1997 as ?funky-elegant,? she was right on the money. That combination, a just-right mixture of laid-back neighborhood conviviality and serious (and seriously good) food, has defined Cashion?s since it opened in 1995. Even now, over a decade after it first welcomed diners, the restaurant remains true to its roots, serving interesting and fresh food in a relaxed way. For the past 14 years, Cashion?s Eat Place has combined refinement and relaxation better than anyone else. Fourteen-years hence, it?s a safe bet that this funky neighborhood spot will still be on top.

OH MY LORD!!!!!

My family came in from NC and NYC and we dined at Cashions this evening. I almost had to smack my momma sitting next to me the food was so amazing from the first bite. Next you heard the clank of a fork as my sister took her first bite of her halibut and the look of delight on her face.!!! I will definetly be going back.

Falling Star

Cashion's has definitely fallen a few notches in terms of quality , customer service, and dining experience. My fiancee and I went Saturday night for a special dinner. It was packed and the only table available was near the window where it was very cold (even the couple next to us got up and left.) The service was attentive, but quite slow...and my financee's entree was still not what she requested, even after sending it back twice. And to top it all off, there was only one person valet parking who was both ornery and horribly slow. (It took over 20 minutes to get our car.) Cashion's used to be a place where you were virtually guaranteed good food, good service, and a superior dining experience. Well, I'm said to say -- no more.

Had dinner on Saturday evening the 9th. Food was excellent.Portions are just right. Enough to leave you statisfied and not feeling bloated. Service was a little slow and wait- staff seemed rushed. Long periods of time between courses and being checked on. I'd definatly go back, but next time I'll tell the waiter my expectations for service before he runs from the table.
