Apex   

Located in Dupont Circle, The Apex (formerly Badlands) is a gay club that offers nightly drink specials, reasonable cover charges and flashy lights. The scene is far from subtle with shirtless boys cruising and TVs above the bars and urinals that continuously flash salacious images. DJs spin tight sets packing the dance floor, so arrive early to adore the eyecandy (or yourself) in the floor-to-ceiling mirrors. Gladys Kravitz, DC's favorite, fabulous drag diva, hosts karaoke on Friday nights in the upstairs annex. The backroom video bar opens around 11PM and is suitable for conversation or Cher-gazing. The front bar, which is decorated with a gigantic, mirror-ball high heel overhead, has a full-stocked fridge of Red Bull -- handy for the late-night party people.
