Where to go when the line at Clarendon Grill is out of control? Cross the street to Mister Days. With all the basic necessities of a good-time sports bar -- a raucous atmosphere, a multitude of beer taps, tireless bartenders and plenty of TVs -- Mister Days' Clarendon location picks up where its DC alleyway location left off, then ups the equation with a rollicking dance floor and high-energy DJ. If you're on a drinking budget, show up early; a weekday happy hour from 4-7PM gets you $1 off all rail drinks, domestic drafts and bottles, and domestic wines by the glass. If you come to Mister Days for the televised sports action, you'll want to climb straight up the stairs to the upper floor, where most of the TVs are mounted. If you're more into action of the male-female variety, you'll want to stay down on the main floor, where the plays and scores are mostly romantic. There's a definite frat-party vibe at Mister Days that might not appeal to you if you're thirty-something. But even if you are over the 30 hump, go on and make a showing -- it feels good to regress every once in a while.

What a great place!
By terouge2007 on 02/02/2007
One of my friends was throwing an impromptu birthday outing on a Friday night a couple months ago at Mister Days. Coming straight from work I arrived quite a bit earlier than the rest of my gang. Even though the place was hopping the bartender went out of her way to say “Hi”, tell me about the specials and make sure I had everything I needed. I was fortunate enough to meet some of the “regulars”, friendly people who made my wait a heck of a lot of fun. We had a small room all to ourselves; the party platters were huge and tasted great. The service was outstanding. Our server was funny and attentive. The manager took the time to find an obscure Soccer match I wanted to watch and put it on one of the TV’s in our area. All in all I had a great time. Every club and bar has it’s good and it’s bad. But in Mister Days case the good far out weighed any issues we ran into that night. I will definitely be going back again.

Mister Days Discriminates 4/06
By yhs45 on 04/17/2006
I was very disappointed on how we were treated by Mr. Patrick G, at the Clarendon location on April 14, 2006. I came down from Frederick, MD to celebrate my birthday with my brother and sister along with some friends(who all live in different parts of VA & MD) who I had not seen in a while and we were asked to leave by the same bouncer who let us in due to my brother wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. The manager explained that they enforce a dress code after 10pm and we explained we arrived at approximately 9:50pm and he still asked us to leave. My brother spoke with Patrick and told him he had a collar shirt in the car and Patrick then said well your friend's jeans are "too baggy." We felt discriminated against because there were other people dressed in t-shirts and "baggy" jeans and just wanted to know why we were being singled out. After about twenty-five minutes of trying to talk to Patrick, we left. We stood in front of Mister Days to see if a dress code was actually enforced and saw the bouncer admit two men in shorts (one actually had a chain attached to his shorts) and a t-shirt, which I took a picture of and another man in a white T-shirt with Texas written across it, baggy jeans and Timberland boots was allowed in - the bouncer actually went and got Patrick, the manager to see if it was ok to let him in and Patrick admitted him. I will never go back to Mister Days and definitely tell my coworkers and friends about my experience. I just hope the Mister Days is managed better in the future and if there is a dress code that it should apply to EVERYONE.

Mister Days is Better than ESPNZONE
By rsox452004 on 03/26/2005
Mister Days is a true Sports Bar--despite its full name Mister Days Sports/Rock Cafe. Unlike the alleged #1 rated ESPNZONE, Mr. Days focuses on providing broadcasts of SPORTS. It does not have arcade games or other frilly items like the ESPNZONE has. If you are a Red Sox Fan or Green Bay Packers fan--this is the place for you. I have been to most Sports Bars in the DC/Northern Virginia area over the last twenty years and Mister Days is the best. Bartenders are good. The clientele is primarily young (but there are many regulars who have been going to Days since it was in the Alley in DC. Bachelor and Bachelorette parties frequent Mr. Days on Friday and Saturday nights. Food is usally good.
