People who didn't like Mei N Yu didn't understand why it's name is Mei n Yu
By JBoyle10 on 06/12/2008
We love Mei N Yu! I love the different kinds of food from all over the world. You know how there's a taste for me and a taste for you? I suppose that's why it's named that. I don't like all the food, but I don't like all the food in ALL restaurants. I love the decor, but I can understand why it's not for everyone. I love McDonald's too, but the decor? I like Ruth's Crist, but not the decor. It appears that we all have become way too critical. If any one ever treated me in a nasty way, rather than write an email, I'd tell the Manager or Owner.

Wonderful restaurant!
By polar1woman on 04/01/2007
and Fantastic service. We've noticed the 1 star reviews, and believe us, they are 100% dead wrong. They would not recognize creative, good food if it hit them on their behinds. This is a restaurant you go to, to experience a whole new world of food. It requires an open mind and an open palate. If you go in with a good attitude, you will be rewarded amply. Don't pay attention to these negative, bumbling idiots. If you are going to be a pain in the ass about the food and the service - then you're not going to get treated well. Go and see for yourself what a wonderful place this is.

Expected so much more
By steele81111 on 02/18/2007
From the moment we walked in I could tell it was not going to be what we expected. The hostess was so snooty and acted like she was so much better than everyone. I guess she forgot she works at a restaurant at age 30 still. Then we were thrown in the back corner where all the waiters meet to make their orders and make a lot of noise in the process. We had a reservation for over a month. Our waiter was so rude and told us 3 times how they were on time constraints and we had to get all our order in at once. He even went as far in saying that if we didn’t put our entree in at the same time we ordered our appetizer that we may not have time to put it in later. It was ridiculous. Why go to a place like that and spend close to $200 on a dinner for 2 when you can’t relax and the SERVICE staff treats you like you’re dirt.

Skip Mie N Yu
By chpgiggle on 01/12/2007
If you insist on trying Mie N Yu, whatever you do, DO NOT go during restaurant week. A colleague and I met up for dinner there last night, had a reservation, and a terrible experience. Plates came flying at us, the food was practically forced down our throats, and before we could even finish our first glass of wine, dessert was being served. The check arrived after barely being at the restaurant an hour. We weren't ready to leave, so we continued to sit and chat. The manager then came over and asked us to move because they "have a two hour table turnover time during Restaurant Week." It was pretty unbelievable. We left, with no intention of ever returning.
