A most charming dining spot, the Old Angler's Inn has been immortalized in countless Washington D.C. novels as a romantic winter getaway, sitting before the fireplace and perusing the menu. It is equally glorious in the summer when the main action moves to the incomparable terrace.

Old Anglers has found its way back to the top! New landscaping, new bathrooms, new bar/lounge. The service is ubelievable. There are right there when you need them. It is as if they can read your mind! The food was as good as it gets. Presentation beautiful! Quantity perfect. Taste magnificent! I will alway recommend OAI to anyone willing to listen

Service Terrible
By lmsarbach on 09/30/2007
Not one to write a poor review, but compelled this time. Had dinner with out of town guests last night. Terribly disappointing. Hadn't been here in 2 years so decided since it was such a wonderful evening that this would be a nice place to go. Service was virtually non-existent. If the food was fabulous then maybe I could forgive the service a little - or lack thereof. However, I have had better food at average restaurants and paid a fraction of the price. Our dinner for 4, with 2 bottles of wine, no desserts, came to a whopping $550!!! I really need a new dishwasher, wish we would have spent the money on that and taken our guests elsewhere. Quite frankly, I am a better cook than the food experience we had last night. If service doesn't improve, it won't be long until this restaurant has fewer and fewer guests.

Terrible Waste of Money
By rmcha9ld on 07/20/2007
I had dinner there 2 weekends ago for a special occasion and I am still fuming. The service was terrible. It took 20 minutes just to get a menu, and the place was empty. The whole night was a series of debacles caused by forgetful and extremely immature wait staff. And even had service been acceptable, the quality of food was nowhere near the $280 that dinner cost for 2 of us. I will never return and have already begun spreading the word.
