One of the best
Im not certain who waited on the folks below but I have been to Rice on about 20 occassions and have been impressed each time....never having bad or rude service. Their dishes, even the standard ones like Pad Thai, have a unique spin and the atmosphere is trendy but casual. Like I said, Ive been there over 20 times and will continue to frequent this great restaurant.
Not worth it!!!
Having a more pleasant waitstaff could have been a distraction. But not here, folks. Just because a restaurant is ina so called "trendy" neighborhood doesn't give them the right to treat people as badly as their food tastes. I won't go back again, even if it was to entertain a foe. Rice needs an attitude and recipe adjustment.
Trendy spot, terrible service
I've been to Rice twice. We got outside seating both times because the inside has terrible acoustics that make it very loud when there's a lot of customers. The service was non-attentive, and bordered on rude. The food was tasty and original, though the portions were a bit small.
The second time I went there, we were seated outside right away with menus, but 20 minutes later we still hadn't been acknowledged by a server. We didn't even have water. And our attempts to get the server's (not sure if he was ours) attention went ignored. We left and went to Thai Tanic down the street - perhaps a less trendy place, but better in almost every other way, especially the service.
So, a good place, if you care to gamble with service quality.
