Dissapointing.
By smartens35 on 07/04/2007
My favorite restaurant has gone to pot. We ate at ElChico's last Saturday evening and was so dissapointed. My spouse meal was edible but not up to the usual standards. My food was awful. I didn't complain then, I never do but was very upset. Not my favorite place to eat anymore.

Eat Here At Own Risk!!!!
By billiegreen3 on 03/11/2007
I'm sorry to say that neither I or my family will never eat at the El Chico Restaurant near Sheppard AFB again. This establishment has serious sanitation issues, and questionable skills in regards to the preparation of dishes served. I had ordered one evening the entre called "Camerons Escondido" or simply put hidden shrimp. This dish consist of 3-4 medium size shrimp stuffed or "Hidden" between two 3-4oz bnls chicken breast, and covered in a chipolte sauce. The dish is completed with a side of mixed steam vege's. Needless to say upon reciept of my plate I quickly realized that my side of mixed veges had not been steamed but in fact were still raw and looked "uncleaned". I called the servers attention to this matter where he apologized and quickly took just my side dish of "Steam Veges" back to the kitchen to be fixed. Well 15-20 minutes went by and I asked our waiter again where was my food; he checked again and returned with a "PLATE" of mixed veges which not only looked steamed, oily, but also what looked like "Chinease Cabbage" had been added in as well? Well to both me and my wife's amazement the "White Chinease Cabbage" that we thought was a "Bonus add in" turned out to be actually be wadded up tape register reciepts!!! Thank God my wife had better eye sight than I did and noticed some kind of faded lettering or typing on one of the pieces. She was able to unfold one of the "Wads", and read various sales from what looked like the bar. Needless to say we brought this to the Asst Manager attention who thought it was funny and simply charged off our meal. We left as quick as we could. At this point you would say to yourself I'd sure wouldn't eat there ever again, but we've since tried to give this restuarant another chance. Of course we've never had anymore suprises in the dishes we ordered, but the quality, timeleness, and sanitation are still really terrible and from the way it looks this restuarant sadly will never change!!!

Don't Eat Here
By jdalley681 on 03/01/2007
This restaurant is nasty. Done a maintenance job in the kitchen. Saw cooks putting oil or shine in their hair, they didn't even wash their hands before he started making tacos. went in the electrical panel room their are all stages of dead and dieing rodents and other vermin along the walls stuck to that sticky stuff they put down. Do they not know they should change that stuff atleast every other year. done some work under one of the Grills Double nasty filthy out of sight it does not get cleaned. Changed out a grease fan on the roof some one opened the door tar from the roof blew in the chip sack told the cook he promptly stired them up said nobody will know. I guess all the extra adds to the flavor, yuch.
